How to read prices on listings: a Group tour card shows both tour types, each labelled — “From $… per person (Group)” and “From $… per person (Private)” — because every Group tour also offers a Private option. A Private-only tour or package shows only the Private price, labelled “Private only” — it has no Group option. “From” is always the lowest per-person price for that type — the price at the largest group size. The full, accurate price for your group size is in the Price section on the tour page itself. Where a price is still being verified, the card says so for that type instead of showing a number.

Vietnam Multi-Day Packages — Tours Across Vietnam

Going beyond the Delta? Innoviet also runs multi-day packages across the whole of Vietnam — north to south in 7, 11 or 15 days, and a 28-day slow journey on into Cambodia. Every package is a private tour — local guides, real local life, just longer, and covering the whole country.

Loading packages…

How package prices are shown: packages are Private only — there is no Group option for any package. Each card gives the Private from-price as listed on innoviet.com, marked “Price to be confirmed” until Innoviet verifies the Private price table for that package (§6d rule: never invent a price). No Group price is shown for a package, and your written quote states the exact Private total for your dates and group size before you pay anything.

Where will you go?

Responsible Travel — At the heart of Innoviet

Travel that leaves the Mekong better — and its people better off

Our purpose is to provide customised and truly local excursions, while providing opportunity and economic benefits to local communities — and supporting and promoting sustainable tourism in Vietnam.

This is not a slogan added at the end of a tour. It shapes the route itself: who cooks your lunch, whose boat you ride in, where your money stays, and what we deliberately leave out — no tourist-trap shopping stops, no staged villages, no oversized groups.

Eco-friendly transport

Boats on the river, bicycles on village paths and walking in the city — using eco-friendly transport wherever the route allows, instead of moving every short hop by road.

Locally produced food

Meals are cooked by the families who host you, from locally produced food bought at local markets — so lunch supports growers, market sellers and home cooks, not an outside supply chain.

Minimising plastic waste

We work to minimise plastic waste on tour — and invite guests to help by bringing a reusable bottle and refusing single-use plastic where there is a better local alternative.

Plant a Tree — Mekong DeltaKeep Mekong CleanHomestays with local familiesLocal markets, workshops & farmers' homesSmall groups — max 8 guestsNo tourist shops or traps

Stated by Innoviet on innoviet.com. We publish no certifications, carbon figures or tree counts we cannot verify — see the full policy for what we do, what guests experience, and what is still to be confirmed.

Why Innoviet

What we can actually promise

Small groups, never rushed

We keep groups small so you can linger at a market, ask questions and actually meet the families who host lunch — a point our guests repeat in review after review.

Off the usual route

Ben Duoc instead of the busiest tunnel site, village canals instead of staged stops, and no “shopping” detours built into the day.

Local benefit, by design

Locally produced food, eco-friendlier transport where possible, less plastic, and homestays that pay the households you stay with.

Operating since 2005, as stated on innoviet.com. Awards, certifications and traveller counts shown on the old site are being re-verified before they appear here.

Local guides

Guides who grew up on these rivers

In reviews published on innoviet.com, guests repeatedly praise their guides' local knowledge, honest history and food recommendations. Guide names, languages and profiles for this redesign are to be confirmed by Innoviet.

How booking works

Three steps, no surprises

1 · Send a request — no payment now

Pick a tour, date and group size. This is a request, not a confirmed booking, and no payment is taken at this step — never by card details in chat or email.

2 · Held for 24 hours, then confirmed

Your request is held for 24 hours while our team confirms availability. We then reply in writing with your confirmed total, pickup point and terms — only that written confirmation makes it a confirmed booking.

3 · 10% deposit now, 90% on the day

After confirmation, we send you a payment link for a 10% deposit only. The remaining 90% is paid to your tour guide on the day of the tour, in person.

Questions

Before you book

Where do Mekong Delta tours depart from?

From Ho Chi Minh City, with pickup in central districts. Exact pickup points, times and any surcharge for addresses outside the centre are confirmed in writing with your booking — they are listed as “to confirm” in this design until Innoviet verifies them.

How do booking and payment work — request, hold, deposit?

No payment now — your request is held for 24 hours while our team confirms availability. After confirmation, we will send you a payment link for a 10% deposit. The remaining 90% is paid to your tour guide on the day of the tour. A booking is only confirmed once our team has confirmed it in writing — sending a request never charges you, and we never ask for card details in chat or email.

Is a day trip enough for the Mekong Delta?

For Ben Tre or My Tho, yes — you'll get canals, villages and a home-cooked lunch. Choose 2 days if the Cai Rang floating market at sunrise or a homestay matters to you.

Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City — are the tours different?

No. Saigon is the city's former and still widely used name. Our city tours are listed once, under Ho Chi Minh City, and cover both the historic “Saigon” centre and districts like Cho Lon.

About Innoviet

Your Local Experts

Innoviet was founded by a group of young-hearted Vietnamese people who wanted travellers to see the Vietnam they grew up in — the quiet canals, family kitchens and working villages of the Mekong Delta, and the real streets of Saigon. That is still the company: small-group Mekong Delta tours, Saigon walking tours and Cu Chi day trips, run by local experts since 2005, as stated on innoviet.com.

Local experts, not a reseller

Innoviet designs and runs its own routes. Your guide is a local who knows the families hosting your lunch, the rowers on the canal and the workshop owners you visit — which is why guests name their guides again and again in reviews. On Tripadvisor, Innoviet Travel is rated 4.9 out of 5 (about 325 reviews) — read them on Tripadvisor ↗ or on our Review page.

Small groups, by choice

Groups are capped at 8 guests. Small enough to fit in a family home, to stop a bicycle ride for a conversation, and to keep quiet canals quiet — large enough to share the cost fairly. Private tours run at your pace, for your group only.

What we stand for

Truly local excursions

Customised, genuinely local tours — homestays with local families, markets at trading hour, workshops and farmers' homes, visited as guests rather than watched as a performance.

Benefit stays local

Our purpose is to provide opportunity and economic benefits to local communities: the family that hosts you is paid, your lunch is cooked from locally produced food, and your boat is rowed by local hands.

Sustainable tourism in Vietnam

Eco-friendly transport where the route allows, plastic waste minimised, and activities like Plant a Tree and Keep Mekong Clean. Read the full policy on our Responsible Travel page.

Browse the tours, read the reviews, or talk to the team — we answer every request in writing, with the exact total and terms before you pay anything.

How to choose

Only one day?

Choose Ben Tre for quieter canals and a village lunch, or My Tho if minimising drive time matters most.

Want the floating market?

Cai Rang is busiest at dawn — that means the 2-day tour with a Can Tho overnight. A day trip cannot reach it at its best.

Travelling as a family?

Private format lets you set the pace, skip cycling sections and time lunch around children. Tell us ages when you request.

Good to know before you go

Mekong Delta FAQs

Private or small-group — which is better?

Small-group keeps costs down and still stays uncrowded. Private gives you control of pace, stops and start time, and suits families and photographers.

Can I combine Cu Chi and the Mekong in one day?

It's a long day and both deserve better. If Innoviet offers a combined route it will be listed as its own tour — otherwise we recommend two separate days.

Half-day or full-day?

A half-day walk covers one neighbourhood well. A full day pairs the historic centre with Cho Lon, or the city with Cu Chi — with a proper lunch break, not a rushed one. First-time visitors usually start with the historic centre; returning visitors get more from Cho Lon.

Are the walking tours suitable for children and older travellers?

Routes are flat and paced gently, with rest stops. Distances and step-free options are to be confirmed per tour — tell us your needs in the request and we'll confirm honestly.

        Responsible Travel Policy

Truly local tours, real benefit for local communities

Innoviet's purpose — in our own words — is to provide customised and truly local excursions, while providing opportunity and economic benefits to local communities and supporting and promoting sustainable tourism in Vietnam. This page explains, plainly, what that means on an actual tour: what we do, what you will experience, and what we ask of guests in return.

        Our promise in one line

If a stop does not benefit the place or the people who live there — or exists only to sell to tourists — it does not belong on an Innoviet route.

The three positive impacts we work for

        01 · Transport

        Use eco-friendly transport

River boats, hand-rowed sampans, bicycles on village lanes and walking tours in Saigon. Travelling the way the Delta itself moves is slower, quieter — and part of the experience, not just a way to get there.

        02 · Food

        Eat locally produced food

Home-cooked lunches and homestay dinners made from locally produced food, bought at local markets. On our Mekong tours you often eat in the home of the family who grew, caught or cooked what is on the table.

        03 · Waste

        Minimise plastic waste

We work to minimise plastic waste on every departure, and our clean-up activity — Keep Mekong Clean — exists because the rivers our guests come to see must still be worth seeing for the people who live on them.

        What guests actually experience

        Homestays with local families

On 2- and 3-day Mekong tours, you sleep and eat with a local family — cooking dinner together, learning how a Delta household really lives. The family is paid for hosting you; this is income that stays in the village.

        Markets, workshops & farmers' homes

Local markets at trading hour, coconut and brick workshops run by local families, and visits to farmers' homes — working places, visited as guests, not performances staged for tour groups.

Plant a Tree in the Mekong Delta

Our dedicated Plant a Tree experience in the Mekong Delta — the stop guests mention again and again in reviews (“Definitely do the tree planting! A must-do whilst in Vietnam.” — Sophia Purtell, Tripadvisor). Ask us to include it when you book a Mekong tour.

        Keep Mekong Clean

Our Keep Mekong Clean activity focuses on the waterways themselves — a practical reminder that responsible travel is something you do on the river, not something you only read about before you go.

        What we deliberately do differently

On an Innoviet tourWhat we avoid — and why
Small groups — max 8 guests — so villages, homestays and canals are never overwhelmedOversized groups that turn a family home or a quiet canal into a crowd
Ben Duoc tunnels and village canals away from the main tourist channelTourist-trap shopping stops and “shopping” detours built into the day to earn commission
Lunches hosted and paid for in local homes; guides who grew up on these riversStaged “local life” performances with no benefit to the people performing them
Time to linger, ask questions and buy directly from makers at fair local pricesRushed itineraries that spend more time in transit and shops than in the Delta itself

        What we ask of guests

        Honesty about what we claim

Everything on this page comes from Innoviet's own published responsible-travel statements on innoviet.com. We do not claim certifications, awards, carbon offsets, emissions figures or numbers of trees planted that we cannot verify — if Innoviet obtains or documents them, they will be added here with their source. Cần Innoviet xác nhận: any formal certification, partner or community-fund details to be added to this policy before launch.

See responsible travel on a real tour

Start with the Mekong — homestays, home-cooked food, village workshops and the option to plant a tree, in a group of no more than 8.
